My Mom is at this facility when I say I can’t say anything bad about the staff , they have been Amazing. But the administrator Katrina is a poor leader and she’s very rude to everyone, she doesn’t care about the staff nor the patients or the families of the patients. I wish I knew the owners. I would love to tell my experience with her. She’s a horrible leader , the residents to her are dollar signs. The flies are horrible and it smells horrible, this place stays under staffed . I’m calling the state every week if I have too .
The ratings are high cause they have employees rate the place . My Mother is now on hospice and she loves the people that is caring for her but she’s always said Katrina don’t care about anyone but herself and it’s true .

I joined the Mar-Ka team in May as the licensed cosmetologist (hair stylist)I absolutely love it. I have so much joy in loving on the residence and making them feel loved, beautiful and Handsome. I love joking with them and many have already received a little 80s country concert while getting a hair cut (I love to sing while working). I have not found a staff member that was not just a joy to be around. I'm very grateful for my decision on joining the team.

This place is amazing. All the staff are great not only taking care of these loved ones but to other co-workers. This facility is such a home. Nursing Home week has been amazing so far. They really appreciate their staff. Being a new employee has so far been rewarding in every aspect

Do not admit your loved one to this place! My loved one was a resident here and begged me to bring them home. So miserable from not being able to trust in the care being received. Trust in the accuracy of the care being received and the the blatant lack of care.
Abuse, neglect and horrible food. Unclean, unsanitary and rundown. Flies swarming around every day! Staff ignored resident calls regularly and out of the 5 or so that I met, 1 nursing staff member was friendly. Administrative staff are unorganized and unprofessional. Rehab department is a joke.

Distant relatives, my family and myself were in shock at the other residents wandering around crying or moaning without being aided.

Also, check positive reviews from staff members. Interesting tactic to beef up the positive ratio with positive staff reviews.

DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES TO THIS PLACE!!!!! they lost my mothers hearing aid twice. Refused to pay for it. She fell several times, three broken ribs. We moved her after that. Horrible, non compassionate people that work there, even the maintenance person is rude. Food is horrible, and building is old and run down.

Food is good, I would have gave 4 stars if the food was brought out at the same time. When I’m starving, very excited to eat with friends it’s very off putting when everyone gets there food and eats while I have to sit and wait. A practice I do not agree with.

If there were a way to give zero stars, I would. If you are ok with your loved one being ignored, isolated, treated less than human, and as if they are a complete bother - this is the place for you! They are unresponsive, unprofessional, and untruthful. Their response to concerns is unethical at best. It really is shameful- absolutely shameful! They should be shut down!
